Welcome to LLC XIII Atlanta!

Educational Track Format

With the theme, “TRADITIONS: Where we’ve been, where we are and where we’re going”, our tracks are designed to coincide with the rooms of a traditional Southern home. There will be six tracks this year encompassing a wide variety of topics offering "something for everyone". As presentations are selected they will be available for viewing under "Presentations".

In the FOYER, we welcome NEWCOMERS and encourage their involvement in the community with such related topics headings as Planning, Orientation, and Opportunities. Some expected topics would include Getting in the Door, Resources in the Community, The Next Generation, Finding a Mentor, and Bridging the Gap.

In the LIBRARY, the intellectual center of the home, we explore the ORGANIZATIONAL aspects of the community through such topic headings as Legal Issues, Tax Issues, Problem Solving, Group Growth & Management, and Estate Planning. Some expected topics would include Non-Profit Options, the New IRS Guidelines, Group Responsibilities, Developing Group Skills, How to Grow your Organization, Money Management & Budgeting, Community Benefits for Your Group.

In the PARLOR, where guests are received, we evaluate OUTREACH with such topic headings as Publicity, Promotion, Marketing & Advertising, and Media. Some expected topics might include Creating PR for Your Group, Media Relationships, Building an Image, Media Planning, Composing Ads & Press Releases, and Free Advertising Possibilities.

In the DRAWING ROOM, where one goes for conversation and camaraderie, we explore PRESENTERS/PRESENTING with such topic headings as Public Speaking, Self Promotion, Demos/Presentations, and Communications. Some expected topics would include How to Grow as a Presenter, Effective Title Interviews, Getting Your Name Out There, Handouts & Copyright Issues, How to Develop Presenters in Your Group, and Increasing Your Audience Skills.

In the BALLROOM, the site of the home’s parties and soirees, we look at EVENT PLANNING with such topic headings as Volunteers, Finances, Venue & Travel, Management, and Publicity. Some expected topics would include How to Grow Your Event, Pricing & Financing Your Event, Timelines, Realistic Expectations for Your Event, Before You Sign on the Dotted Line, Knowing Your Market, and Involving Other Groups in Your Event.

Finally, in the KITCHEN, the true heart of the home and where everything and everyone eventually ends up, we explore the range of topics we call ELECTIVES that don’t easily fall into any category. This track, which you could also call “the kitchen sink”, includes the headings of Relationships, Personal Growth, History, and Sexuality. Some expected topics might include Financially Taking Care of Others, Protocol, Growth through Reading, Kink in the Larger Community, Labeling Issues/Defining Yourself, Discovering/Exploring/Accepting, Mental Health Within our Community, Gender Issues, and Domestic Violence in a BDSM relationship.

While the tracks and headings are set, by no means is the list of topics limited to those listed above.

We know that often times attendees wish to attend classes that are held at the same time so we are compiling a CD with the various handouts that will be given out with each class so that you may refer to them at a later date. CD's are being sponsored this year by KJ Canes with our thanks.

We, the local committee in Atlanta, are striving to produce an amazing conference and we look forward to seeing you at LLC XIII!
