There is much evidence from past years that Leather Leadership Conference is valuable to different parts of the community, and especially the newcomer.

Nonwithstanding, the LLC 12 organizers did something interesting: They asked folks new to the scene (who have not gone to an LLC) what their beliefs were about conferences and also what they're needing to take "the next step."

Not surprisingly, we got some interesting comments, including the following:

“This conference is too high level for me”
“It’s scary”
“Too stuffy/not sexy”
“Too ‘Old Guard’”
“They (organizers) don’t ‘get it.’”
“I want/need community”
“It will be intimidating”

While we're confident to say "just come, you'll love it," we want to let you know that the organizers have thought about this group. A part of the design of the conference is to create a safe environment for the newcomer, provide encouragement and inspiration, demystify lingo and language and show the best of the community.

The theme for LLC 12 is “Arouse!,” and the goal is to excite existing and potential community leaders/activists and foster a greater sense of connection between and within community groups. Even though the name is "Leather" Leadership Conference, it's meant for those who identify with the terms Leather, Kink, BDSM, SM, Fetish, Poly and more.

If you’re new to the scene, it’s a perfect way to get involved, get connected, find community mentors and transform your leather and kink ideas and dreams into reality.
