| The Town Hall meeting: A case study in tackling community issues a panel moderated by Daddy Bo with panelists George Wong, Ms. Diana, slavegirl debbie and slave karen The Town Hall Meeting is an excellent way of bringing communities together to collectively discuss, explore and find solutions for the needs and problems in its midst. Our panelists are members of a team that produce such Meetings in the L.A. SM Community. This presentation provides a template on how to choose topics and panelists, handle positive and negative feedback, and present solutions. We will close with a mock Town Hall Meeting where YOU are the players! How you will benefit from this presentation: You will learn how to utilize this time tested forum for to explore issues in their own communities. How this presentation will arouse you: As far as we know, this topic has never been presented at LLC. Town Hall Meetings provide an excellent way not only for community leaders to work together, but to bring together all segments of a community, including its fringes, that may not have every gathered in one place before. Town Hall Meetings provide a new type of forum for the leather community to explore issues. In the first half of the presentation, the panelists discuss how to: choosing topics and panelists; handling both positive and negative feedback, garner ideas from attendees, present recommendations to the community. The biggest WOW will come in the second half, where we’ll put on a mock Town Hall Meeting where those in attendance will get to be moderator, panel members, security, time-keeper, handle mic-duty, and become Town Hall Meeting Attendees. This proposal clearly fits into conference tracks, clearly helps the conference meet its goals, contains clear learning objectives, creates a "wow" reaction because of topic and elements of presentation, contains clear descriptions of activities to foster interaction among attendees, addresses something new for the leather community, and clearly addresses topics and questions of diversity within the leather community. In addition, the presenters have previous presentation experience, the overall quality of the proposal is professional, and the proposal submission was written with much thought.
